Description
Mango Lassi is a creamy, sweet, and refreshing Indian drink made with ripe mangoes, yogurt, milk, and a hint of cardamom. Perfect for summer or as a cooling beverage, it’s quick to make and packed with natural goodness.
Ingredients
1½ cup (280 grams) mangoes, chopped (fresh ripe or 1 cup canned sweetened pulp)
¾ cup (175 grams) cold plain yogurt
¾ cup (180 ml) cold milk or water
1½ to 3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
¼ teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
To Garnish (optional):
1 teaspoon chopped pistachios
A pinch of saffron strands
4 tablespoons whipped cream
Instructions
Rinse and cube fresh mangoes if using fresh mangoes. Chill if desired.
Add mangoes, yogurt, milk or water, sugar, and cardamom powder to a blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust thickness or sweetness as needed.
Pour into glasses and garnish with chopped pistachios, saffron, or whipped cream.
Serve immediately or chill for 30–60 minutes for a colder drink.
Alternative Mason Jar Method:
Add ½ cup mango pulp, ⅓ cup yogurt, ¼ cup milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, a pinch of cardamom, and 1–2 ice cubes to a mason jar.
Shake vigorously for 2 minutes until smooth. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use ripe Alphonso mangoes for the best flavor; canned pulp works if fresh mangoes aren’t available.
Adjust yogurt, milk, or sugar to taste for thickness and sweetness.
For vegan options, use coconut or almond yogurt and plant-based milk.
Best enjoyed fresh; refrigerate up to 24 hours if necessary, stirring before serving.
