Description
A creamy and naturally sweet Date Shake made with Medjool dates, milk, vanilla ice cream, and spices. Perfect as a healthy breakfast or dessert, this easy-to-make drink is rich, delicious, and customizable.
Ingredients
1 cup pitted dates (preferably Medjool)
2 cups cold milk (dairy, oat, or almond)
1 cup vanilla ice cream (dairy free if preferred)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
½ tsp cinnamon (optional, adjust to taste)
Ice cubes (as needed, optional)
Instructions
Pit dates if not already prepped and chop into smaller pieces.
Place dates into a blender first for smoother emulsification.
Add cold milk, vanilla ice cream, and vanilla extract to the blender.
Secure the lid tightly and blend on low speed.
Increase to high speed to achieve a smooth consistency.
If using cinnamon, add it after blending begins and ensure it is well incorporated.
Add crumbled ice cubes and blend for 30-60 seconds until creamy.
Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more dates or ice cream if desired.
Chill glasses in the freezer for 5 minutes before serving if preferred.
Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or additional date pieces.
Notes
Choose soft, ripe Medjool dates for easier blending.
For a thinner consistency, add an extra ¼ cup milk.
Use a high-speed blender for the silkiest texture.
Chill all ingredients for 10 minutes before blending for better results.
Vegan: Use plant-based milk and frozen vegan ice cream.
Optional: Replace cinnamon with nutmeg or cardamom for a different flavor.
