Description

This nutrient-dense pumpkin spice smoothie is the perfect seasonal breakfast for busy mornings. By combining creamy pumpkin puree with fiber-rich hemp hearts and the natural sweetness of Medjool dates, this smoothie provides sustained energy without the blood sugar spikes typical of coffee shop drinks. It is a wholesome, indulgent, and satisfying way to start your day while enjoying all the warm flavors of autumn.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup canned plain pumpkin puree
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
3 to 4 Medjool dates, pitted
2 tablespoons hemp hearts
1/2 cup milk of choice (oat or almond recommended)
1 heaping cup ice cubes

Instructions

Place the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, pitted dates, hemp hearts, and milk into a high-speed blender.
Secure the lid tightly.
Blend on high until the dates are completely pulverized and the mixture is smooth.
Taste the mixture and add more spice or sweetener if desired.
Add the ice cubes to the blender.
Blend again until the smoothie reaches a thick, slushy consistency.
Pour into a chilled glass and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure you are using plain pumpkin puree and not pre-sweetened pumpkin pie filling. If you cannot find hemp hearts, you can substitute with collagen peptides for an extra boost of protein. If Medjool dates are unavailable, use 2 tablespoons of maple syrup for a comparable sweetness.
