Ingredients
200g short pasta (Farfalle recommended)
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
20g halal-friendly Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (or nutritional yeast for vegan)
1 tbsp chilli flakes (optional)
Instructions
Boil pasta in salted water (4-5 tbsp salt per liter) according to package instructions
Drain immediately and reserve ½ cup cooking water if needed
Transfer to a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil
Sprinkle oregano/Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and chilli flakes (if using)
Grate Parmigiano Reggiano directly over hot pasta to help oil absorb evenly
Mix vigorously for at least 2 minutes to ensure full coating
Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F) or oven to 180°C (350°C)
Spread pasta in a single layer (avoid stacking) in air fryer basket or oven tray
Air fryer: Cook for 6 minutes, shake basket, then cook 6 minutes more until golden
Oven: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy
Notes
Use light olive oil for neutral flavor
Halal-friendly Parmesan or nutritional yeast is recommended for dietary compliance
Roasted garlic paste can replace garlic powder for a bolder taste
Reserve cooking water to rehydrate under-cooked batches if needed
